When I click “File” in easysign, the software crashes, or produces a strange error message.

This problem is caused by a problem in the TWAIN scanner driver. When the user clicks “File”, the software checks for the presence of such a scanner, which causes the TWAIN driver to crash or produce an error message.

The solution would be to update the drivers for the scanner to the latest version, please check the website of the manufacturer for this.

Workaround: you should switch off the scanning in EasySIGN, or use the WIA driver. This is not directly possible, as these settings are located under the “File” menu…. We have therefore provided this ZIP file. Please open the file, and double-click the .REG file that is in it. This will switch off the scanning, allowing the user to go to “File” “Settings”, tab “Miscellaneous”. Here, the option “TWAIN” is available, you can try to set this to ‘WIA’. If this causes the same problem to re-appear, then repeat this workaround and update the scanner drivers.

One or more computers in my network show incorrect color names in the status bar. How can I solve this?

You should use a shared color table.
How to do this can be found here: How can I share/synchronize my color table in a network environment?
Copy the color table to the share from the computer that show the correct color names.

How can I share/synchronize my color table in a network environment?

Please follow the following steps:

1. If you haven’t done already, create a network share.
2. Copy the file USERCLR.CTB, located inside ‘C:\Program Files\EasySIGN\V0X\SYSTEM’ to the share from step 1. (X>=3)
3. On all computers, open the “Edit color table” dialog which can be found in the Fill color tool palette.
4. In this dialog, use the ‘Select…’ button to browse to the shared color table.

One big advantage of using a shared color table is that you only have to add colors on a single computer.
On all other computers, you only have to restart EasySIGN to update the color table.

Can I restrict access to files (worksheets)?

If you don’t want a user (e.g. a trainee) to have full access to your worksheets, you can restrict the access rights to anything below the modify-level. Each time that such a user opens an EasySIGN worksheet, EasySIGN opens a read-only copy of this worksheet.

Contact your system-administrator or consult your Windows-manual for details on how to restrict access to certain files/folders.
